I encourage you to do consultations or sessions with multiple practitioners. You’ll quickly see that we’re vastly different. Remember grade school teachers? They could make or break a class, and maybe there were only a few you really connected with. Also true for therapists!
So book at least a few consults and sessions. Two major things to look for:
Emotional safety (“Can I share things without feeling judged?”)
Resonance (“Do they get me?”)
Most importantly, practice trusting your intuition; in this way, the search itself can be therapeutic.
Who am I?
I'm Sonica Li. I'm a certified coach and licensed therapist.
Therapy or coaching with me is a space to play and experiment with creativity and authenticity. We’ll help you gently reparent your inner children, saboteurs, and managers so that they function as a team and not in conflict.
I specialize in adult ADHD, phone addiction, as well as peak performance and career development, informed by my previous career in tech.
I also specialize in working with folks who are experiencing conflict between what is expected of them and what is calling to them. These are often immigrants and children of immigrants, but, let’s face it, folks from all walks of life can relate to this.
My main therapeutic approaches include Interal Family Systems (IFS), Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT), Person-Centered therapy, and experiential therapy modalities.
My main coaching approaches include IFS, Co-Active coaching, StrengthsFinder, and embodied creation. Check out the Concepts page for more details.
I work conduct sessions only via videoconference or phone, no in-person sessions at this time.
